"Grow Your Own" DVD night
Thurs 17th March
A cosy night of watching a DVD and eating popcorn at the Welcome Centre in Burngreave. 'Grow Your Own' is a film about a group of allotment holders, including some asylum seekers. The story of one woman really resonated for one of our members - she & her partner had come to the UK seeking refuge but were unfortunately separated in the dispersal to different areas of the country. Watch the film to find out what happens to them! More info about it on IMDB.
International Women's Day
Tues 8th March
To celebrate the centenary year of International Women's Day, an event was held at the Furnival on Nottingham Street in Burngreave. We had a stall selling plants, flower cards and home-made calendula ointment. Our women's group visited the event and helped us to promote our project.

All our members and volunteers received a bag of home-made goodies: chocolate truffles, peppermint creams, chocoalte-dipped orange slices and a jar of beetroot chutney.

Many thanks to John Lewis Sheffield who donated these stylish gift bags:

Christmas event
Tuesday 21st December
This year, we braved the cold and snow to visit Castleton in the Peak District. We explored the village and shops and went for a wintry walk to get our appetites up for a fantastic Christmas lunch at the Ladybower Inn.
