News: Porridge & Plants

SAGE is seeking a new Chair person for the Board of Trustees.

In February SAGE welcomed an occupational therapy student from Sheffield Hallam university and hosted a placement for the student to develop her skills in a third sector setting. Through this partnership the group ‘Porridge & Plants’ has been developed.

The aim of the group is to invite members of SAGE Greenfingers to get together, enjoy a nutritious breakfast and pool the skills they have developed over their time at SAGE to create a booklet with instructions on how to complete indoor gardening activities. The booklet can be used to reach people who know little about gardening and may want to have a go themselves. It is aimed at mixed abilities with clear pictures and easy to follow instructions!

Members of the group have also been enjoying alternative porridge recipes and flavours such as Carrot Cake, Chocolate and Apple Pie, all of which are healthy and cheap to make!
