Singing Workshops

SAGE runs women-only singing workshops on a termly basis throughout the year. This friendly, informal group is open to people of any singing ability.
Summer term: Mondays 16 April - 16 July 2018
Time: 12:30 – 14:30 Venue: The Welcome Centre, Nottingham Street, Burngreave, Sheffield S3 9AQ

Cost: Suggested donation of £2 per session

What to expect: We begin with group-building activities and move onto singing warm-ups, including physical relaxation, breathing and gentle vocal exercises. Then we learn simple songs in parts. As part of this process, we encourage sharing and discussion, so that people get the chance to be part of the group and widen their social networks.

At the end of each term, the members of the singing group will have the opportunity to take home a CD of all the songs that they have learnt and sung that term, so they can continue to enjoy listening and singing along to them in their own home.

Trips: As part of the singing workshop, we also run various day trips throughout the year for our members. Previous trips have included:

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

Picnic at Forge Dam

Performances: To give something back to the local community, we give performances of the songs that have been learnt at the workshops at various local places, which have previously included:

  • St Peter’s Summer Fate
  • SAGE Open Day

How to join: For further information and to book your place on the workshops please contact SAGE on 0114 273 7718 or email: enquries@sagesheffield.org.uk
